Diwali in New York is back with a bang this year. Thanks to the official release of Diwali Stamp in USA which resulted from the 15-year movement by Indians in America! The official recognition of Diwali festival in USA doubles the celebration for the Indian American community in New York and other cities. New York is gearing up for the celebration with a number of Diwali events from Times Square to Garden City. Times Square in New York City is one of the best places to celebrate Diwali in New York. Diwali at Times Square is not just the biggest of all upcoming Indian events in New York but also the grandest celebration of Indian culture. The New York Indian community has been waiting for the Times Square Diwali 2016 with a bated breath. It is an 8-hour celebration over live performances, fashion shows, dance & music competitions, photography exhibition and other creative programs like rangoli painting. The skyline of New York City will dazzle with fireworks during Diwali at Times Square 2016.

South Street Seaport Diwali 2016 New York

One of the upcoming Diwali events in USA, the South Street Seaport Diwali 2016 in New York City seems to promise a good time for the Indian community. The Association of Indians in America AIA), an organization of Asian immigrants in the US, hosts Diwali for New York Indians as part of their socio-cultural activities every year. The AIA works for the welfare of Asian Indians in the US and promotes the culture of India in the US. Around 125 children participated in the celebration last year. Admission to this Diwali event NYC is free.

One of the most popular Diwali events 2016 in New York, the Motorcade & Cultural Show comprises creative entertainment programs including a parade, a havan ceremony, worship of Goddess Lakshmi and prize distribution.
